Welcome

If you want to feel the breeze in your hair as the natural world reveals its secrets then welcome to my web site.

Retired now, I have been a freelance photographer since the early sixties.

Whenever possible, and whenever time permitted, I have eagerly turned my camera toward the natural world.
My pictures have been published all over the world in many magazines, books, guide books, posters, etc, my most recent significant success adorned the PAPER cover of the BBC’s book, “ LIFE IN THE UNDERGROWTH” by David Attenborough. This was a close-up of a blue damselfly.

In 2006 I ventured into the world of letters when a fellow photographer finally persuaded me to put a panel of wildlife pictures under the scrutiny of the Royal Photographic Society. I gained an associateship.

I have welcomed this digital age with both hands; it is a wonderful leap forward with many more options to experiment.
I probably have at least 30.000 images in my library from the days of black and white & colour slides to add to today’s growing number of digital files.

I use only Nikon equipment, as the quality their lenses give me is unbeatable, the equipment is robust enough to take the knocks and tumbles associated with hills, dales, marshes and tall trees!

I hope you enjoy looking at my images as much as I have enjoyed making them.
